"I just wanted you to be safe." Lea said, shifting in her seat. "You're pretty, and I know what men can do to pretty girls. I wasn't completely sheltered from the world in Ajteire." She looked at them both. "I'd do it again, but I will accept what you have to say. You know this city better than I do."
She stole a few glances at Katarya. Artemis was lucky to have a woman like her; strong, independent. She hoped she could be the same, not having to rely on anyone but herself. "Maybe you could teach me some things? Just like Black does? I know I can't use magic, but there has to be something I can learn. I don't mind putting the work in." Or spending more time with you alone. She thought.
Mila glanced to Artemis. "I just wanna keep the people I care about safe."
